Modernization of Pandur II 8x8 CZ
24.01.2023
The concept of the Czech Armed Forces construction 2030 comprises the modernization of existing and the purchase of new wheeled combat vehicle Pandur II 8x8 CZ at the Land Forces of the Czech Republic and the associated reorganization of the 44th Light Motorized Battalion into a mechanized one. The need to modernize the Pandur II in the middle of their life cycle and to purchase dozens of units in the new standard according to the original plans, which were reduced due to the economic crisis of 2008-2009, has been talked about for a long time. The Committee on Defence of the Parliament of the Czech Republic addressed the topic at its 16th meeting last year, when it was announced that by the end of 2022 a feasibility study should be commissioned on this topic, which should determine how the project will be implemented by June 2023.
