Key speakers have been chosen to cover all areas related to soft target protection. They are experts in their fields having major knowledge of the problem. This workshop could be an enriching event for you and you will be able to share your experiences, change information and gain new contacts and partners for further cooperation.

 

The intended participants are experienced experts and researchers who are involved in activity of soft target protection or terrorism and other violent threats related to soft target protection. Participants will be also specialists working in this area, students and researches specializing in security studies who will follow the conference proceedings. Non-speaking participants will be able to learn about the most common problems related to soft targets and their protection, about new possibilities in this area.

 

Participants of FUTURE FORCES FORUM (17-19 October 2018) are wide spectrum of people connected with the development, design and manufacturing in the area of defence engineering and technologies. The parallel workshop Soft Target Protection with the exhibition will bring the possibility to connect the scientific area with the end-users and to participate of all visitors of exhibitions. Vice versa the workshop participants will have an opportunity to visit the exhibition. Workshop participant can obtain new information from the current technologies on the market. In such way this event impact will extend beyond the direct participant, because it will not be only for the workshop participants but for the exposition visitors, e.g. specialists and the public.

The security situation in the world has deteriorated significantly over the last period, as is shown by the growing number of attacks on objects characterized by low levels of protection and high concentration of people – soft targets. Almost always, these attacks are accompanied by a large number of casualties. The deterioration in the security situation also means an increased need to protect and defend soft targets, where we currently face several problems – from the inability to create a single internationally valid definition to the application of an appropriate security system.  At the moment, very few countries have begun to engage in an effort to improve the situation, so it is very important to constantly raise awareness of the possibilities and ways to contribute to addressing these problems. The proposed topic is important and relevant to NATO because is closely relate to all SPS Key Priority mentioned in 1a) (methods for the protection, defence against terrorism, detection technologies and risk management).
